The book "Simply different: Four stories of courage in you" by Sabrina ZiegenhornSome animals are normal and some animals are just different. That's not always easy. A lion, a penguin, a crane and a pig are different but have one thing in common: They are different and that connects the 4. The 4 show that being different is something very special. I recommend the book because it tells the stories of the 4 in rhyme and it is very well written and the pictures are good. There is a lot to discover in the pictures and the font is large and easy to read. It should be normal when you are different and you learn that in the book. They are stories that give comfort, encouragement and give hope. Have fun while reading.

The book "The Stuffed Animal Squad (Volume 1): A Tale of True Strength"It is the first picture book by Sarah and Samuel Koch. Fred and his teddy bear Pollo are best friends. During the day they experience the biggest and wildest adventures and at night Pollo protects Fred from all dangers. But then something bad happens: while playing on the bunk bed, cuddly bear Pollo loses his arm. Fred is shocked: A bear with only one arm? How is he supposed to cuddle with him now? Pollo is also terribly sad and feels ugly and useless. Dejected, he retreats to a corner, because he doesn't want anyone to see the big tears that are falling down his fur. Suddenly the cuddly toy commando appears, a wild troop of discarded and special toy figures. They show Pollo that you can be unique and valuable even without an arm. And they have a very special surprise for Pollo with them. I recommend the picture book because it has large pictures and not that much text. It is easy to read before bed or in the afternoon. The children can also read it themselves. The book gives courage because it has an important message: You are unique! There is also an audio play for the book. Have fun while reading.

The book "Elmar" by David McKeeListenelement 1It's about Elmar, who is "different" from normal elephants, he's special. It is multicolored checked and has no elephant color. He is a happy elephant and very fond of pranks. But he wishes to look just like the other elephants and to belong. One day he rolls in gray berries and mixes with the other elephants. But one day it starts to rain and the gray color comes off his body. Then Elmar realizes that he doesn't have to pretend at all, because he's exactly right the way he is. I recommend the book because children learn from the start that they are perfect just the way they are. No one has to pretend to please others. You should stay true to yourself and please yourself. That's the most important.

The film "Miracle" directed by Stephen ChboskyListenelement 3Auggie is a happy boy he is funny, smart, he has humorous parents and a big sister. But unfortunately Auggie is an outsider. His face is disfigured by a rare genetic defect. He writes down his feelings in his diaries. He has been homeschooled so far and wears an astronaut helmet to hide his face. But now he should attend a normal school class. At first he doesn't dare, but he gathers all his courage and wants to show the world that "being different" is normal. I recommend this very emotional film because it's very true to life and it's often hard to make friends like this because so many judge by looks alone. But at some point people will also be seen and the special appearance will no longer be valued.

The book "What does respect mean here?!" by Elke ReichartListenelement 4For many people, respect in professional and private life is important, but is defined differently. In this book, the author Elke Reichart gave 20 people from different professions and walks of life a chance to speak on the subject of "respect", which makes this book very worth reading and thought-provoking. In many interviews it can be read that the topic is very diverse, but that the media, such as the Internet, have also had a negative impact. The point of view is shaped by culture, profession and way of life, and acceptance or accepting someone or something with respect is mentioned again and again. The author draws attention to an important topic, which unfortunately is not taken so seriously by some people these days. I can recommend the book because you see many professions and people with different eyes and the topic of "respect" becomes more important as a result. The book is a "must" nowadays, because it is important for living together and treating each other with respect.

The book "I am me - and now?" by Nico AbrellI chose the book because I've been following Nico on YouTube and Instagram for a long time and because I think more people should know about the LGBT community and that it's normal. After all, what is “normal”? Everyone is unique and special and should be accepted as they are. It's supposed to help young people who don't know how to deal with it, how to come out, etc. Nico would have wished that such advisors had helped him in his day. Nico wrote the book to encourage other people. Nico explains what being gay and lesbian means or the differences between being gay - then and now. He talks about his own experiences, e.g. about his school days, coming out, first date, kiss etc. He also gives advice and tips, e.g. if you are not sure who you are or if you think that you are gay, lesbian or bi. He gives tips that he liked to have had a few years ago "What are the best counters to stupid sayings?" "How do I come out and do I have to do that at all?" "What to do with prejudices?". In the guide he has also written down contact points that can help you if you have questions or need help. He also listed his favorite LGBT YouTubers, movies, series and books. The great thing is that it is not just a normal guide, but that you can write in. For example, you should describe yourself in 3 sentences, describe yourself in 5 hashtags, write down your fears and whether you can handle them alone or whether you need help. Write down gay stereotypes that are stupid. Nico's motto is "Be yourself, no matter what others think!". I recommend you buy the guide because it is honest and genuine. Nico wrote the guide because he experienced it all firsthand and wants to share his experiences with us. If you have problems with bullying or are "special", the guide is very helpful. Or if you just want to get an insight into the LGBT world. It's a good read because nowadays it's important to have guides like this because you know you're not alone.
