THE CHARACTERISTICS OF
»FRANCESCHETTI SYNDROME« ARE:
- not fully developed to absent carriage bones (zygomatic bones)
- receding small lower jaw
- Malformation of the palate, partial cleft palate
- Malformation of auricles and middle ear structures
- Ear canal narrowing and/or closure
- laterally sloping eyelids, partial indentations in the lower lid
This can cause the following problems in different ways
characteristics occur:
- Breathing problems can necessitate treatment with a palate plate or an incision in the windpipe (tracheostomy tube).
- Drinking, eating and chewing problems (stomach tube)
- Conductive hearing loss (special bone conduction hearing aids)
- Speech problems due to cleft palate/tracheostomy tube
- increased risk of anesthesia (intubation problems)
- social integration (lack of public acceptance)
